A crunchy iced crust
shining in the sun
hiding the soft slushy snow
hands are frozen tingling icicles
breathing clouds of steam in the sun
little footprints in the frost
while even the strongest trees
bend over, under the weight
of their heavy blankets

I really like your choice of words here….Winter, isn’t it grand to write about this season???This poem inspires me…truly.
What a beautiful combination of words and images. I especially love the photos of little footprints in the snow with shadows. All the best for the New Year!
Thank you! I love that picture too… I was opening the window in the morning, and from the balcony I saw those footprints in the garden and felt I had to take a photo!
Beautiful poem and spectacular photo opportunities!
